Wow these past few weeks proved to be a complaint and nag
session for me on this blog. Hehe..
Going back to the title, I went to a hypermarket one
night to get some supplies for mom. When I got to the checkout counter, there
were two people in front of me and two at the back. After waiting for about 5
minutes, I was able to unload my stuffs on the conveyor belt. While doing this,
I could feel that someone was putting his/her stuff in front of mine. When I turn
to my right, there was a lady in her 40s sengeh macam kerang busuk standing
next to the aisle. I asked her “What’s this?” and she said “I have only 1 stuff”.
WTH? I asked her “Ok, so what do you want? You want to tumpang your stuff?” and
she replied “Yes, yes tumpang”. I was kind of pissed so I told her off “Next
time, please ask if you could tumpang before you even put your stuff in front of
mine. It’s rude. It’s not like I won’t allow you to tumpang barang”. She just
smiled without even saying sorry. And the typical Malay in me let her pay first,
but I asked the other two persons behind me if it was okay with them.
Note: All conversation
was in Malay.
I’m sorry, but I NEVER do that in my whole entire life. What
makes you think that just because you only have 1 item it entitles you to cut
the queue? It’s not only rude,
it’s one freaking selfish act!
What about other people who have gotten there first, are they supposed to let any Tom Dick and Harry cut the line to pay for 1 thing even though they have been there for half an hour? Which, I must add will only make the waiting part even longer. What about the people behind the person who let that Tom Dick or Harry to pass through? Is it fair to them to have to wait longer just because one person decides to be charitable that day?

I know this is not only a Malaysian thing, trust me, because that
lady was Indonesian and my mom, yes my mom who used to be Singaporean and now a Malaysian, does the same
too.

the words kerang busuk crack me up each time I read it.
people like that deserve to be shoved. but I wouldn't do it, lack of confrontational ability. In fact I wouldn't even sound her off the way you did, I would just think murderous thoughts in my mind and give an acid smile...
