Turn 29 today. My last year in the 20s before hitting the 3.0 digits. Thank you for all the birthday wishes.
Honestly do not have the mood to celebrate after learning about the missing MH370. My prayers go to all the passangers and families. If the plane really crashed, i hope that the Muslims were able to recite syahadah before passing on and the non Muslims were able to pray as well. I hope that the wreckage and all the passengers will be found no matter how long it takes. Give a closure to the family.
I also hope that the cause of the crash would be identified. Not to blame anyone or have someone we can point finger at, but so that we can learn from the deficiency in the system and improve. Or deficiency in executing our job properly and become more efficient, reliable and responsible. I think we tend to forget that no matter how minute our contribution is, it could lead to a bigger result/end. So here im reminding myself to not slack off at work. Who knows if my failure in reading contractual terms could cause thousands if not millions to the company? That would affect other peoples increment AND bonus. And itll all be on me.
On another note, i wonder how will MAS cope with this after declaring 1.7 bil of loss last year. Such a huge blow for MAS. I expect MAS to file s.176 once the insurance claims pour in. But maybe thats better for MAS. At least theres no more hanky panky in its opex cost. Make the management more efficient in terms of finances and operations. Last semester, we did a financial comparison between MAS and AirAsia. Apparently, MAS made lotsa revenue, about 4 mil more than AA if im not mistaken. But if u look at the expenses MAS spent, omg really. The number triples the revenue, its insane. How do they manage a company that runs at a loss for more than 10 years? Crazy scary.
