i think i need to read this
cuz seriously, i dont understand the character that kate winslet was playing. i mean, wtf does she want?
guess u just won't get it unless u read the book. few things that i did grab from the movie though "love thou children, abortion is condemned". "human desire is insatiable, so thee shalt be grateful with what thee hath".
about the same conclusion i have for 100 years of solitude. hah!

i think the book concentrates more on the guy... haven't seen the movie yet. maybe in the movie they emphasized the woman's character, or maybe ur seeing the movie from her point of view.
a very good read, though! highly recommended if you don't mind the after-effect: depression.
owh, so they do have common effect. is it the post world war II thingy?
