the environment

we had class discussion on environment and the lecturer showed all these figures and statistics on pollution, littering etc. it scared me to the extent that i couldn't sleep thinking what the world has become. how can i help reduce carbon print however minute the effort is?

people always say we should strive for sustainable environment so our children will have the kind of environment that we enjoy now if not better. actually, i'd rather they have the kind of environment in the 80's where we could safely play outside without parents being worried about our safety. but that's 2 different things.

i say, why look too far into the future? just look at the present world now; how dirty, polluted and un-green it has become. that really scares me. and i can't help but wonder why the top guns aren't seeing the scary world that i'm seeing?

hopefully when i become one of them, i'd remember to strive for the environment no matter how financially costly it would be.
