Walter Mitty spoiler alert

At first I was skeptical whether to watch this one because I’m not a Stiller fan (I skip 42 Ronin because of Keanu Reeves) and I don’t like watching American comedy movies simply because I think the jokes have been recycled wayyy too much. Walter Mitty isn’t really a funny movie; so that’s a plus point for me. What I like about the movie, though as cliché as it sounds, is that even at your lower point in life eg you’re a forever alone 42 year-old who have just been sacked from your job, you can never predict life and what’s to come. It reminds me not to fret about not yet finding ‘passion’ or ‘it’. I’m only 28, I still have 14 years to go? :p

I especially like the part where Sean was looking through his camera to watch the snow leopard. Stiller asked why he didn’t take a photo of the leopard, and he said that sometimes he chose to capture a moment in his brain instead of clicking the shutter (or something along that line). I thought that was beautiful. It’s definitely something I can relate to - I’d rather bask in the moment than take tens of photos to commemorate it.

Ooo I saw a trailer of this and thought it looked interesting and very un-like Ben Stiller (not a fan of his usual stuff either, though I did LOL at Zoolander and There's something about Mary).

I read an article recently about how people who take photos than just 'bask' in the moment have difficulty remembering the moment later on (compared to those who don't take photos). So that's something to be said about savoring images as opposed to snapping photos!
